Bitcoin as legal tender: the Salvadoran case

Juan Carlos Reyes, president of the National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD) of El Salvador, describes the characteristics of that country's regulatory body to ensure the adoption of cryptocurrency.

El Salvador adopted bitcoin as legal tender in 2021 and positioned itself as a benchmark in the insertion into the crypto world. Juan Carlos Reyes, president of the National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD) of El Salvador, told about the experience during his attendance at Redes de Gobierno 2024, the event organized by Grupo Convergencia in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza.
