Cet.la: Changing regulations to sustain network expansion

In its latest report, the Latin American Telecommunications Study Center once again highlights the issue of the sustainability of network deployments in Latin America based on the traffic generated. It estimates that an additional US$32 billion will be needed by 2030 just to support the increase in traffic.

The Latin American Telecommunications Study Center (cet.la) published the report "Contribution of the entire digital ecosystem to the sustainable development of telecommunications infrastructure," prepared by Nera, which states that by 2030, an additional US$49 billion will be needed beyond the projected trend to expand network coverage and capacity. Of that amount, US$32 billion will be required to address the increase in traffic.
