Both the European Union and China have initiatives to occupy space with LEO fleets and constellations. Within Europe, national governments are promoting public-private partnerships with state involvement.

p>The satellite industry is experiencing a marked expansion of low Earth orbit (LEO) constellations, while the GEO market continues to show a trend toward consolidation. GEO players are repositioning themselves as a result of the LEO boom — and also MEO, with new activations of SES’s O3b mPower — but also due to the growing interest in Direct-to-Device (D2D) trials.
