Spectrum concession period for 5G networks has begun.

Costa Rica has given final approval for the deployment of 5G technology. The companies Claro, Liberty, Ring Centrales de Costa Rica, CoopeLesca R.L., CoopeGuanacaste R.L., and CoopeSantos R.L. are beginning a 15-year concession period, extendable for an additional 10 years, for the exploitation of mobile telecommunications resources. With this step, the concessionary operators are authorized to implement International Mobile Telecommunications, including 5G technology, throughout the national territory.
