Hispasat donates satellite access to restore communications after the hurricane

The Spanish satellite communications operator Hispasat responded to the humanitarian crisis in Jamaica following the devastating Hurricane Melissa by donating 55 satellite access points to restore communications. This support is part of an initiative led by the European Union and UNICEF, aimed at addressing the severe infrastructure disruption that left over 530,000 Jamaicans without electricity and with collapsed Internet and mobile phone services (more than 500 mobile sites out of service).
