Europe: operators disappointed with new Digital Networks Act

The GSMA noted that the regulation reinforces Europe’s trend toward overregulating the sector. It highlighted as positive the changes in spectrum use and the ability to operate in all EU countries based on registration in just one of them.

European operators had high expectations for the proposed Digital Networks Act (DNA), hoping that the legislation replacing the EU telecommunications framework would create “a top-tier digital ecosystem supporting industrial, security, and innovation capabilities,” the GSMA said in a statement on Wednesday.
