5G site deployment in Argentina grew 22% in six months, but standalone 5G remains distant

Two years after the spectrum auction, 8% of accesses are now on 5G. Personal has already activated its 5G Standalone (SA) core, but monetization has yet to materialize. Operators say use cases for 5G SA are still not mature.

At the end of March 2026, ENACOM told Convergencia that the number of deployed 5G sites in the country stands at around 2,300, representing 22% growth over six months (from 1,887 as of September 2025).
