Telconet to invest US$550 million in data centers, computing and submarine cables

Telconet announced an investment of US$550 million through 2027 aimed at developing critical and strategic infrastructure in Latin America.

Part of the funds will be allocated to building a distributed network of edge data centers across the United States, Colombia, Panama, and Ecuador.

They will also be used to strengthen advanced computing capacity through the incorporation of high-performance servers for the development of AI solutions from infrastructure based in Ecuador, where the company is evaluating the construction of a new data center.

The investment will also support the completion of the final phase of the CSN-1 (Carnival Submarine Networks-1) subsea cable, which will connect the United States, Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador.
