The government is preparing a decree to auction part of the spectrum, according to Industry, Energy and Mining Minister Fernanda Cardona, speaking at a CERTAL event. Sources within the ministry told El Observador that the purpose of the tender is to “fully unlock the potential of 5G deployment,” advancing on lower wavelength bands that the previous administration left for a later stage when it opened the 2022 call for three blocks in the so-called “mid-band” spectrum of 100 MHz.
