Acting Minister of Telecommunications and the Information Society Ricardo Gutiérrez reported that Ecuador has 14,204 4G base stations deployed nationwide, providing coverage to approximately 15.2 million people, as well as 513 deployed 5G base stations. He also said that, as of 2025, 71.3% of Ecuadorian households have internet access, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos, INEC).
