CRC says COMCEL-Azteca integration could strengthen connectivity

Colombia’s Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) issued a technical opinion to the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) on the proposed business integration involving COMCEL, Azteca Comunicaciones Colombia, TV Azteca Sucursal Colombia and Total Play Telecomunicaciones Sucursal Colombia (ACC). The analysis identifies opportunities to expand network capacity, coverage and quality, but also risks arising from control of infrastructure on which operators competing with COMCEL depend.
