Costa Rica’s Telecommunications Superintendency (Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones, Sutel) conducted its first evaluation of the 5G networks operated by Claro and Liberty, the two operators currently offering the technology in the country. The study was conducted between January and June 2026. The results show significant differences in performance, with Claro recording a download speed of 186.6 Mbps, compared with 34.1 Mbps for Liberty.
