After delays and a US$ 12 million investment, the National Fiber Optic Network would be ready in March

In spite of the accusations of delays, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies already set an end date.

On September 20, 2018, the Mitic (Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies) announced that the president of the Republic, Mario Abdo Benítez, would prioritize “as a government the RNFO (National Fiber Optic Network)”. This project seeks to unite the infrastructures deployed by several State institutions, mainly those of Copaco and the ANDE (National Electricity Administration), the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Finance, to generate “a unique network at the service of all, making the resources with a common vision effective.”
