The Committee of Foreign Trade (Comex) decided to limit entry into the country of TV decoders and ordered to only allow companies that are legally registered to provide the service to import these devices. The control of these imports are made under a licensing scheme that is authorized by the Superintendency of Telecommunications (SUPERTEL).
The restrictions will apply from January and SUPERTEL warned users that obtaining Coded Satellite Television Services through computers or devices that do not come from a system authorized by State is a violation, for example, Intellectual Property Law.
