Movicom has begun a transition program

The program “Making the Transition Easier” is the strategy that the BellSouth in Argentina's Human Resources Department adopted to neutralize the first reactions that they detected in the personnel when the Telefónica Móviles acquisition became known. According to the Movicom Human Resources and Logistics executive director, Raúl Lacaza, to combat the  “surprise, denial and shock” –the first reactions that he remembers provoked the announcement -, the first thing he did was draw up a priority agenda. The focus was to "maintain the company in operation and fulfill the objectives committed with BellSouth without losing attraction on the part of the new stockholder", described the executive.

Upon communicating with management personnel about transition agendas, between May and July, the firm carried out 25 workshops for the 1,700 line employees. Between July and August, Human Resources measured the impact that this action had among the employees and detected that on a scale of 3 to 5, the clarity levels had increase (from 3.3 to 4.31) perspective (from 3.32 to 4.19) and energy (from 3.54 to 4.32). The program was then transferred to Chile.
