The World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-17) begins today in Buenos Aires under the motto "ICTs for Sustainable Development Objectives". Among WTDC-17 expected results are Buenos Aires Declaration and Action Plan, which will determine the priorities and the program of the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) for the next four years.
ITU Strategic Plan includes four objectives and 14 related results, with a results-based structure. Buenos Aires Action Plan, and specifically its programs, regional initiatives and Study Group Questions, will contribute to the implementation of ITU-D resolutions and recommendations relevant to the ITU-D mandate, including ITU Connect 2020 Agenda, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) action lines and Sustainable Development Goals and Targets.
