After twenty years of career within the institution, Cifuentes comes to the General Management of the Organismo Supervisor de Inversión Privada en Telecomunicaciones (Osiptel) (Supervisory Organization for Private Investment in Telecommunications). Sergio Cifuentes has a large experience in economic and financial analysis, with specialization in regulatory policies in the telecommunications sector, as well as in the development of a university chair on topics related to Microeconomic Theory, Theory of Regulation and Industrial Organization.
