Quadros deniesthat 2.3 GHz band is intended to 5G

The president of the Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Anatel) (Telecom Regulator), Juarez Quadros, clarified that it is not the intention of the entity to allocate the 2.3 GHz band for 5G technology, as sai in a statement from the regulator. He explained that the intention of Anatel is to carry out next year a single tender for frequencies that would include 2.3 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 700 MHz surplus, although only 3.5 GHz would be exclusively intended to 5G. He pointed out that the 2.3 GHz band is intended to the Servicio Limitado Privado (SLP) (Private Limited Service), in addition to fixed telephony, personal mobile service and for TV relay stations.
