Disney foresees a future with interaction and transaction with the viewer

During the panel dedicated to the "Future of the industry before convergence", Diego Lerner, president of The Walt Disney Company Latin America, considered that currently the experience of consuming series and films is passive, and the industry has few answers in terms of versatility and interactivity. "We are studying it with the possibility of e-commerce: the industry has to add value for the consumer, because whether they like it or not, we must recognize that the user can access the content, legally or illegally," he explained.

In this scenario, Disney is developing its own platform, but with the idea of not segmenting its content proposal or withdrawing its signals from the traditional pay-TV market. "The 'all or nothing' will not exist in the future world. We want to be present with this platform together with actors that currently exist or not -for example, with music or e-commerce channels," said Lerner.
