Last week they held a first introductory meeting with the aim of starting a project and providing IPTV service. Esteban Tocalini, head of the Comisión de Proveedores de Internet de la Cámara Argentina de Internet, Cabase (Commission of Internet Providers of the Argentine Internet Chamber), told Convergencialatina that "unlike other times, now the problem is not regulatory" since they have the licenses to give that type of service. The conflict is with the marketing scheme of content providers, which is by place (locality or district) and not by neighborhood or number of users. The ISPs look for ways to group and negotiate with another model.
The objective is that the offer be available in Cabase and create the central infrastructure to distribute them. From the Chamber they pointed out that there was a lot of interest from the ISPs since 100 associates attended and another 60 participated remotely. Today they will begin a census so that the operators can release if they have the network suitable to provide IPTV service and potential clients.
