Latin America's pioneering 5G tender aims to create a public-private digital ecosystem

Yesterday at the Palacio de la Moneda, President Sebastián Piñera officially started the process, coinciding with the publication of the rules. In a first stage, it should be connected to ministries, municipalities and almost 200 hospitals. In addition, experimental 5G network permits will be granted to universities and connectivity in industrial estates will be considered. They estimate that the tender will contribute 0.2% to GDP in direct investment in the first year and 0.5% after the start of operations at the national level.
