Claro, TIM and Vivo question Algar’s IoT chip

Representatives of Claro, TIM and Vivo question Algar Telecom's offer of a “multi-operator” M2M chip since this solution would serve Internet of Things (IoT) modules from roaming that, for those operators, would not have legal protection because they were classified as permanent roaming.

During an event promoted by TeleSintese, Claro's IoT Business Director, Eduardo Polidoro, pointed out that “in our view, permanent roaming is not allowed in Brazil, whether internal or external. An Algar chip that is permanently outside the Algar coverage area, from our point of view, is prohibited.”
