Conatel presented the National Telecommunications Plan 2021 – 2025

It is the instrument for planning and designing the objectives in the telecommunications sector in the country. It develops diagnoses, objectives, indicators and goals for the period 2021 to 2025. It is already published on conatel.gov.py.

It has three main objectives: expansion of coverage, penetration and quality of service. It contemplates the identification of special ICT needs from Covid-19; interinstitutional agreements; goal analysis; media and regulatory proactivity. After a diagnosis of the different telecommunications services, it establishes a series of projects with different degrees of urgency (fundamental/support/specific), such as: control panel for coverage obligations; analysis of alliances with departmental governments; rules to implement asymmetric regulation; review of rate regulations.
