Entel adds new cities with 5G coverage in Peru

After receiving authorization to implement 5G in Peru in 2021, the operator of Chilean origin launched its commercial offer and deployed its 5G network -on the 3.5 GHz band- in Lima. Now it has added Trujillo, Piura and Arequipa and the next places where this technology will be deployed will be Áncash, Ica, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Tacna and Callao.

The operator invested nearly US$130 million in Peru in 2021, of which US$85 million was allocated to the mobile business, focused on increasing the capacity and quality of its 4G network, which is essential for the deployment of the 5G network to implement services for fixed wireless and mobile internet.

As it did in Chile, in Peru Entel is beginning the development of experimental zones in health and education, in addition to other areas.
