Saint Martin launches its IXP under CaribIX project

Saint-Martin has launched its Internet Exchange Point (IXP), the Smart-IX, located in the city of Marigot, under CARIBIX, a project coordinated by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union.

Through an IXP memorandum of understanding (MoU), the interconnection of networks has already begun and initially involves Dauphin Telecom, the company of TIC Computech and operator TelEm Group.

CaribIX also aims to establish and develop IXPs in Saint Barthelemy (Saint Barthelemy Internet Exchange - SBH-IX) and Guadeloupe.
