Fixed telephony concessions and sale of Oi Móvil among main objectives of Anatel in 2023

The president of the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Carlos Baigorri, pointed out that the definition of fixed telephony concessions, the sale of Oi Móvil, OTTs, and piracy are some of the important issues that the regulator must define during 2023.

Regarding the fixed telephony concessions, Baigorri specified that they work with different scenarios for the adaptation of the current incumbents, going through the return of the concession, the carrying out of a new tender and also the possibility of a future tender that has no interested parties.

He also pointed out that the regulator considers it necessary to continue closely monitoring the sale process of Oi Móvil and take final measures to apply corrections that strengthen competition.
