A project that establishes a Framework Law on Cybersecurity and Critical Information Infrastructure is being processed in a joint committee on National Defense and Public Security of the Senate.
Among other points, the bill provides for the creation of a National Cybersecurity Agency, an entity that experts consider key to moving towards a robust institutional framework in the country.
For the drafting of the law, the parliamentarians consulted the experiences of some 14 countries that have already made progress in implementing similar laws, highlighting the policies in Spain, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Argentina and Colombia.
