Entel to invest US$618 million this year in Chile and Peru focused on mobile and home businesses

This investment would be equivalent to 19.7% of income. Of these, US$ 451 million will be allocated to the operation in Chile and US$ 167 million to Peru. The General Manager of Entel, Antonio Büchi, reported that this will be financed entirely with its own resources.

The plan for the mobile business in Chile is US$286 million, slightly below the year 2023, in an effort to maintain leadership during this technological transition to 5G. For its part, US$88 million will go to the Home business, mainly due to the investment of US$200 for each new customer connected in fiber optics. In addition, US$13 million will be allocated to Entel Digital.

Regarding investments in Peru, Büchi highlighted that US$131 million will be allocated to the mobile sector and US$16 million to the Home business.

“It continues to be a market where we see great potential for growth. We are already the second mobile operator in the market and the objective is to close the gap with the leader, supported by a valued brand and a first-class service. We want to grow in market share to reach and exceed 30% in 3 or 4 years,” said Büchi.

He also announced that by the end of this year the cable television service could be ready in Peru, which is currently only offered in Chile.
