The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-24) was inaugurated yesterday in New Delhi, India. The event will discuss global actions to establish standards for new technologies.
During the opening ceremony, Doreen Bogdan-Martin, ITU secretary general, stated that "this global meeting calls for collective and bold efforts", adding, "Over the next ten days, we will have the opportunity to strengthen the role of international standards as the foundation of global digital governance".
On Monday, October 14, the Global Standards Symposium (GSS-24) took place, reaffirming the importance of investing in the development of technical standards to drive innovation in key areas such as artificial intelligence, smart cities and virtual worlds.
