The government is moving forward with the drafting of a new law on evaporite resources and lithium, aimed at making sector management more transparent, attracting private investment, and generating sustainable revenues for producing regions and for the country as a whole.
The announcement was made by President Rodrigo Paz Pereira during the launch of the Extraordinary Protection and Equity Program (PEPE) in the city of Potosí.
“We are going to put all our effort into the lithium law so that it is transparent, robust, and brings investment and real money,” he said, stressing that the bill seeks to fundamentally change the approach taken in recent years to managing this strategic resource.
