Authorities to speed up selection processes for 900 MHz spectrum allocation

ICT Ministry, with support from the National Spectrum Agency (Agencia Nacional del Espectro, ANE), will move forward with Objective Selection Processes (Procesos de Selección Objetiva, PSO) to assign permits for the use of radio spectrum in the 900 MHz band. The national government aims to expand connectivity in rural and remote areas where service is currently unavailable or limited.

The allocation will be carried out through two processes. The first is aimed at community-based Internet organizations, and the second at Telecommunications Network and Service Providers (Proveedores de Redes y Servicios de Telecomunicaciones, PRST) offering fixed residential Internet services.
