America Movil bought 100% of Megatel Honduras and Enitel Nicaragua

The Mexican firm America Movil has entered Honduras after purchasing 100% of Megatel Honduras. Besides, it has confirmed the acquisition of 50.03%  Megatel had in Empresa Nicaragüense de Telecomunicaciones (Enitel), therefore keeping the total shares, as it already owned the remaining 49%. The transfer in both countries is scheduled for July. No figures were released.

Late in March, Enitel had some 205,000 fixed telephony subscribers and 145,000 cell clients. In Honduras, Megatel added up 61,000 mobile telephony users. America Movil is the biggest mobile telephony operator in Latin America with over 43 million users.
