Manuel Zelaya affirms that the new Telecommunications law foresees to privatize Hondutel

The president of Honduras has accused the National Congress and underlined that the new legislation authorizes the Honduran Telecommunications Company to become a company of mixed capital so a private company could invest and expand its quality and coverage.

On the other hand, the chief of the Legislative Power, Roberto Micheletti,  denied the insinuations and stated that it is the same bill that the Executive Power, private companies, Workers Union and Hondutel previously approved.

The president of the ruling commission, Deputy Rodolfo Irías Navas, indicated that it deals with a project presented by a deputy; the Executive Power will not be able to withdraw it nor postpone its approval like it did in other opportunities.
