CGR warns the CONATEL for not supervising Multicanal¿s service

The CGR (Comptroller General of the Republic) told the CONATEL (National Telecommunications Commission) that, as a regulating entity, it is violating the law because it is not properly supervising the provision of cable television services of Multicanal S.A., in defense of consumer interests. The Office recommended to the CONATEL to create a unit to receive user complaints as well as monitor the solutions to said complaints. CGR gave the CONATEL 7 days to respond.

5G contracts progress as ICE raises additional concerns

The Comptroller’s Office has given the green light to the contracts signed by the six operators (two national and four regional) to begin the deployment of 5G. The state-owned ICE plans to take legal action if Sutel does not approve its agreement with Racsa to provide fifth-generation mobile phone service.
