The keys to the refarming regulation

Convergencia accessed Resolution 2017-160-APN-MCO of the Ministry of Communications dated January 26.

This week the resolution of the Ministry of Communications that establishes the regulation of refarming, new spectrum caps and future bands to bid will be published. As with Decree 1340/17, the "Regulation for the re-qualification (refarming) of the use of frequency bands with other technologies and services different from the one originally planned with economic compensation and sharing of bands", grants discretion to the National Entity (Enacom), which will be empowered to authorize providers who require the Refarming Procedure, in their sole discretion and prior, beyond the technical characteristics of the project, if the applicant meets the conditions.
