In January 2017 the Network Neutrality Regulation of Peru went into force, one of the most advanced regulations on the subject throughout Latin America, where the regulation on the subject is unequal. Only in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru, net neutrality is established by law. In Costa Rica, there are provisions in this regard within the National Broadband Strategy and in Paraguay are embodied in the regulation of telecommunications services. Chile reinforced the tendency to reference the regulations elaborated by the European Union.
