At the last meeting of ITU-T SG5, progress was made on the environmental requirements for 5G and consent was granted for 19 Recommendations

The French city of Sophia Antipolis hosted the meeting, which took place from 13 to 22 November 2017. Of the 19 consented Recommendations, 8 were revised. At a workshop held after the SG5 meeting, on 23 November, energy efficiency issues were discussed in anticipation of the roll-out of 5G networks.

ITU-T Study Group 5 on “Environment, Climate Change and the Circular Economy”, held its latest meeting from 13 to 22 November, picking up where it left off at the previous meeting held in Geneva in May 2017. The November meeting resulted in 19 consented Recommendations, 8 of which were revised,agreement was reached on 7 new work items and 5 new Supplementss.
