The operations of wholesale technology and computer distributor Ingram Micro in Latin America reported sales of US$ 2.9 billion last year, in line with a transformation process that seeks to move the firm away from positioning itself as a hardware distributor, to locate it as a wholesaler of solutions. Marco Tessa, new VP for Southern Cone, explained to Convergencialatina that "investments in marketing and in the acquisition of companies -for example, Aktio and Acao in the region- are aimed to obtain that know-how. In Argentina, on the contrary, we are established in the world of solutions and we want to add the transactional part, so we foresee investments and put more focus on logistics."
