The candidates Iván Duque Márquez (from the right-wing Democratic Center) and Gustavo Petro (from the leftist Progressive Movement coalition) will contest the country's presidency in the second round scheduled for June 17. Duque, of former president Álvaro Uribe's, won 39.1% of the vote and Petro, former guerrilla of the M-19 and former mayor of Bogotá, reached 25.1% in the first round held yesterday.
