12% of operators expect to offer 5G services this year

According to the survey, based on consultations with 100 telecommunications companies, the first services will focus on supporting existing data services (96%). Daniel de Vinatea, Country Manager for the Southern Cone of Vertiv, commented to Convergencialatina that the expectations for Latin America are optimistic, since between 2020 and 2022 the deployments of 5G networks will be developed.

So far it has not been possible to measure the impact of the 5G deployment, since it will enable a lot of technology that today is just beginning to be used. This was stated by Daniel de Vinatea, Country Manager for the Southern Cone of Vertiv, to Convergencialatina, after the company presented a study in which it predicts that by 2021, 86% of global operators will be able to provide 5G services.

Telecom posts 13.4% increase in consolidated sales in first half

Liberty Latin America consolidated profitability in the second quarter
