The reorganization of the 3.5 GHz band to culminate at the end of the first semester

In September 2019, the MTC (Ministry of Transportation and Communications) identified 500 MHz in 3.5 GHz for mobile services, as it is located as a reference for Latin America, due to the wide availability of spectrum in a key band considered for 5G.

In terms of spectrum allocation, Peru shows signs of leadership for the evolution towards 5G in Latin America, taking into account that it identified 500 MHz in 3.5 GHz, and the rearrangement process in this band expects to be ready next June. Thus, Peru could be one of the first countries in the region to tender frequencies in the band, considered key for the next technological generation.
