Lula leads the polls of voting intentions, but would not be enough to win in the first round, while the current president has closed the gap, but is 10 percentage points behind.

On October 2, new elections for president, governors and legislative representatives will be held in Brazil, and although 12 candidacies have been registered before the Superior Electoral Court, the possibility of accessing the highest executive office will be decided between two exclusive candidates: the current president, Jair Bolsonaro, for the Liberal Party (PL), and former president Ignacio "Lula" da Silva, for the Workers' Party (PT).
