Furukawa Electric Latam observed a 20% growth in fiber demand for the neutral network model between mid-2021 and mid-2022, said Lucas Samyn, Technical Coordinator for the Southern Cone of that firm. Part of this increase is due to municipalities that seek to have flexible lines suitable not only for FTTH to residential users, but also for smart city applications, from connected sensors and traffic lights to support for Wi-Fi antennas in public places.
