Interview with Gabriel Jurado, Vice-Minister of Connectivity

"In order to maximize the social welfare of Colombians the spectrum has to be at a reasonable price."

With just over six months in office, Jurado is facing a crucial year for Gustavo Petro's government Connectivity Plan. In June 2023, Gabriel Jurado assumed the position of Vice Minister of Connectivity at the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (Mintic). Jurado is a lawyer, holds a master's degree in Political Science, and specializes in Telecommunications Law. With over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, he had previously served as the General Secretary of the Ministry of ICT from 2002 to 2004.
