Telecommunications law reform advances

The Public Services Commission of the Legislative Assembly is already discussing the initiative. It is expected to be approved without difficulty once it goes to the full assembly. The project establishes objective criteria for the granting of licenses and authorizations and the determination of fees and rights for the use of spectrum. It also incorporates the figure of MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) and regulates network sharing.

The National Assembly of Nicaragua is discussing a bill sent by the Executive Branch that aims to amend the Telecommunications Law to adapt it to the 4G standards defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
