Chile and Brazil exceed 9% of 5G connections and focus on B2B

This is the second stage of the deployment of this technology, after the first stage aimed at the mass market. In addition, it depends on the existence of SA networks to achieve the integration of different solutions in production environments and to implement network slicing.

According to GSMA Intelligence, the percentage of 5G connections in Latin America was 5% at the end of 2023, not including IoT on licensed spectrum. By 2025, the same source projects that it will triple and that by 2030 it will reach 55% of subscribers. These fifth-generation accesses correspond to 29 operators from 10 countries that have already launched commercial services. The Ericsson Mobility Report recognizes “macroeconomic difficulties” that slow down 5G subscriptions, with 33 million accesses by 2023 and an expectation of reaching 52% of connections by the end of 2029.
