Movistar's local subsidiary sold to Tigo for US$ 440 million

The Spanish telecommunications group Telefónica has reached an agreement to sell 100% of the capital of Telefónica Móviles de Uruguay to the multinational Millicom for US$440 million, according to a statement issued by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). Telefónica noted that the transaction is part of the group’s asset portfolio management policy and is aligned with its strategy to reduce exposure in Latin America.
