MAYA-1.2: Liberty Networks to "upgrade" an operational subsea cable

Convergencialatina spoke with Carmine Sorrentino, VP and Commercial and Operations Director of the Wholesale Networks business at the company.

At the end of last August, Liberty Networks announced the modernization of the MAYA-1.2 submarine system, aimed at doubling the network’s capacity. At a time when much of Latin America’s “consortium” cable systems are around 20 to 25 years old, this development is a milestone, given that it involves upgrading a cable already in operation, extending its useful life.
