28th International Conference ATVC 2018

"The activity of SME cable companies is unhealthy"

One of the speeches most applauded at the conferences of the International Conference of ATVC 2018 was that of Guillermo Davin, Commercial Manager of Red Intercable, who described the activity of SME cable companies as "unhealthy, with 360 ° fronts, short law, OTTs, cooperatives that subsidize services "and other factors that complicate the survival and permanence of companies in the sector.

In a message that received the support of several SME cable companies present at the hearing, Davin put "name and surname" to piracy: "with a Directv subscription, you get three antennas with three decoders, and with some device or complicity, that makes us lose four clients," he told Convergencia. Even the representative of Red Intercable regretted the absence in the panel of Directv spokespersons -which were included in the agenda of the meeting in Buenos Aires- to counteract with his vision.
