Paraguay to auction spectrum for 5G in 2024 and aims for the technology to cover half of its population a year later

The projection is found in the National Telecommunications Plan (PNT) 2021-2025, a document published this week by Conatel. In addition, it seeks to reach 100% of the population by 2025 through 4G networks.

The last days of 2021 and the first days of 2022 were definitions for the Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Conatel) (Telecom regulator). At the end of last year, the National Frequencies Plan was presented, and this last week, the National Telecommunications Plan (PNT) 2021-2025, final document after receiving comments and suggestions from the sector last August.
